My name's Anna Arata and I am a jazz singer based out of Nashville, TN. I attended Belmont University where I received a Bachelor of Music in commercial voice in 2015. While in college, I was the lead female singer and manager a 7-piece swing band (Gnarly Parkers) that had many acclaimed performances, including: a featured spot on Music City Roots (2015), being specially selected to audition & perform for the United Nation's American Music Abroad program in NYC, and multiple live radio performances, namely with WRFL radio. With Gnarly Parkers and other swing bands, I have toured much of the Mid-West area. Post college, I am working on my solo jazz project and am a reoccurring singer in the Grand Hotel Orchestra on Mackinac Island.
My recording experience includes working for a professional cheerleading company, my own professional recordings (primarily with Gnarly Parkers, former band), and various other work-for-hire situations.
I have a clear, warm tone that greatly resembles Norah Jones. My influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Anita O'Day, Norah Jones, and Chet Baker. I have a great ear for harmony and can blend seamlessly with virtually any voice I'm supporting.
