Nate Felty is an experienced live and session drummer who enjoys performing a wide range of musical styles. Nate completed his BA in 2012 from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Oswego, where he studied jazz drum set and Latin Percussion with Dr. Eric Schmitz. In 2014, he completed his MM in Commercial Drum Set from Belmont University in May, 2014, studying with Chester Thompson and Todd London.
Nate is the drummer for Nashville-based, nationally touring band, Dynamo, a 10-piece group which was formed together with several of his colleagues while attending graduate school in late 2012. The group’s music fuses jazz, rock, and funk with elements of soul and R&B. In addition to touring, the group actively promotes music education, organizing and conducting music clinics in grade schools and colleges throughout the country.
In addition to Dynamo, Nate performs with country artist, Logan Brill, who made her Opry debut and released her second critically acclaimed album, Shuteye, in May, 2015 and June, 2015 respectively. He also tours with country singer/songwriter Kelsey Waldon, and 2003 American Idol finalist, Josh Gracin. Nate also performs frequently with soul group Marquee Mayfield, Scenic City Jazz Band, and a side project he co-leads, The Nashville Salsa Collective.
Nate continues to make his imprint on the Nashville music community, performing with notable local musicians such as Roy Agee (Prince), Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), Jack Pearson (Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett), Dani Elliott (Allen Stone, Miley Cyrus), Aaron Draper (Adele) Mike Hicks (Keb Mo), De Marco Johnson (Marc Broussard), and Hamilton Hardin (Ruben Studdard, Lalah Hathaway).
